Journey to Mayzee (timeline)

WHERE WE ARE IN THE PROCESS:  #13 (out of 15! See diagram below)

We are SO close!! We are waiting for our Travel Approval (TA) granted by the Chinese Government inviting us to come to China to adopt Meizi!!  This takes (on average) 2 weeks to receive. Once we receive our TA (around Dec2), we can schedule our Consulate Appointment (CA) with the U.S. Consulate in China. The date we are granted for our CA will determine when we depart for China - approximately two weeks before the assigned date.

TIMELINE (For those in process who love to see dates):

• 10/14/12 - We found Mayzee and God began working a mighty change in our hearts.
• 10/30/12 - God whispered in our hearts to bring her home. Our journey began!
• 11/09/12 - LOI (Letter of Intent submitted to China)
• 11/14/12 - PA (Pre-Approval from China to adopt Mayzee)
• 03/23/13 - HS Approval (Home Study completed and approved)
• 05/03/13 - I-800A Approval (from USCIS granting permission to adopt A child from China)
• 05/20/13 - DTC! (Dossier sent to China)
• 05/24/13 - Black Hole (Our dossier was misplaced on a desk and sucked into a black hole. We received an LID of 6/28 which is Grandma Maza's birthday, but later learned it was only digitally logged in while the hard copy remained lost for nearly 2 more months.)
• 08/13/13 - LID (Actual Log In Date into China's system)
• 09/30/13 - LOA! (Letter of Approval - Official approval from China to adopt Mayzee) 
• 10/18/13 - I-800 Provisional Approval (USCIS grants immigration approval for Mayzee to enter the US as an immediate family member.)
• 10/25/13 - NVC (Article 5 Letter/PDF - Approval for Mayzee's Visa)
• 11/05/13 - ARTICLE 5 Drop-off at the US Consulate in GZ (cert. child meets Hague criteria)
• 11/19/13 - ARTICLE 5 Pick-up from US Consulate, delivered to CCCWA in Beijing

WHAT WE HAVE AHEAD OF US:

• TA (Travel Approval granted by the Chinese Government inviting us to come)
• CA (Make Consulate Appointment with U.S. Consulate in China, schedule travel dates!)
• VISA Approval (Travel Visas for Stacey and Mark to travel)

• FAMILY DAY! (China day:2 - The day we meet Meizi! Also referred to as GOTCHA day)
• U.S. CONSULATE APPOINTMENT (In China - to finalize and receive Mayzee's visa)
